In 2010 I got an idea. To take an old letterpress from the warehouse of our family's fourth generation newspaper and printing business and learn print. I had worked in my family commercial printing business for 10 years and had ink firmly set in my veins. I knew printing, knew the lingo, and I had a sense for what customers wanted. So, with the help of my handy husband and the blessing of my parents, I pulled the 1923 Chandler and Price from the shadows and started to learn letterpress printing.

Type A started slow working with local clients (i.e. really supportive friends!) and quickly my business grew. In 2012 I took the leap and quit my day job to be my own my boss. I couldn't be happier.

I have an amazing shop in McMinnville, Oregon and work next to some incredibly supportive and inspiring friends in an old warehouse. I grew up hiding in the paper rolls in this building, these bricks mean something to me. I love that I have been able to build my business here.

I offer custom letterpress printing, and work with clients around the country. Along with many local wineries, including Sokol Blosser Winery, Eyrie Vineyards and R. Stuart, I work frequently with Kinfolk Magazine on their letterpress materials.

I love working with people who believe in the power of relationships and bringing our individual strengths to the table to make amazing products. You will find me working on collaborations with some truly talented folks to continue to create new pieces.
